Veterans Day is an observance set aside to honor and express gratitude to the brave men and women who served or are currently serving our country in the armed forces. While saying "Thank you for your service" is a well-intentioned sentiment, it can sometimes feel trite and inadequate to veterans. Like anything, repetition of a particular phrase over time can cause it to lose its intended meaning.
